Set up your trailer brakes

One quick setup and you're towing. Grab the free app, then follow the four steps.

Already fitted and set up. The controller is mounted and programmed on the trailer, so you don't install or wire anything. It senses your braking and applies the trailer brakes automatically.

Headlights fully ON

Your trailer brakes get power through the taillight cable, and that only powers up with your headlights fully ON, not Auto, not DRL. This is the number one reason brakes don't work, so get it right before anything else.

Connect the app

Plug in the 7-pin and turn your headlights on. Open the app and hold your phone to the EB2 logo, when the prompt pops up, tap Connect. No prompt? Tap Cancel, then Add Manually, and pick your EB2 from the list.

The app runs a one-time check using your brake pedal. Sit in the driver's seat and follow the on-screen countdown, press and hold, foot off, press again, until it shows Paired. You only do this once per phone, per trailer.

Quick calibration drive

Drive slowly in a straight line and brake gently two or three times. The app tells you when it's done. You only do this once.

Check two green lights

In the app's Data tab, your Tail light and Brake light should both show green at 10V or above. That means the brakes are getting power.

Two green lights? You're good to go. That's all you need for a normal trip.

Brake programs We've pre-set the program, so leave it as is for everyday towing. Carrying a heavy load? Switch to the Loaded program (higher numbers), and test your braking at 40 to 50 km/h in a safe spot after loading.
The app circle Blue means ready and connected. Red means the trailer brakes are on right now.
Alerts
  • Low power: getting under 10V. Check your headlights are fully ON and the plug is seated.
  • Too hot: the unit's overheating. Pull over and let it cool before driving on.
  • Brakes pulsing hard and fast: the EB2 lost power and switched to emergency mode. Pull over, check headlights are ON and the 7-pin plug is fully seated.
Something not working? Tap your problem
Can't connect
  • Headlights fully ON, not Auto or DRL.
  • Unplug the 7-pin plug, wait 5 seconds, plug it back in.
  • Stand near the front of the trailer (by the EB2 unit) while pairing.
  • Close the app, reopen it, and try again.
Authentication keeps failing
  • Headlights fully ON and the plug fully seated.
  • Press the pedal firmly, all the way down, and hold it for the whole countdown.
  • Take your foot completely off when the app says to.
  • Still failing? Close the app, reopen, and tap Try Again.
Brakes feel too weak
  • Carrying a load? Switch to the Loaded program.
  • Increase the Forward setting in small steps.
  • Test at 40 to 50 km/h in a safe spot after each change.
Brakes grabbing too hard
  • Trailer empty? Switch to the Unloaded program.
  • Reduce the Forward setting in small steps.
  • Re-test at 40 to 50 km/h.
Brakes pulsing rapidly
  • The EB2 lost power and is in emergency mode.
  • Pull over safely. Check your headlights are fully ON.
  • Check the 7-pin plug is fully seated with no bent pins.
