The trailer
Built for moving cars
The 5m by 2m deck tilts hydraulically right down to the ground, so cars drive or winch straight on without a steep climb. It sits in the 3.5 tonne class with up to 2,500kg payload, which covers most cars, utes, small 4WDs and project vehicles. Two 1.8m heavy-duty ramps come with it too.
Car won't start? The 12,000lb electric winch pulls it on for you, which is why it gets booked for auction and marketplace pickups, breakdowns and workshop runs. Tie-down points run all the way around the deck.

Check in at the trailer
Head to 14 Collins St, Slacks Creek at your start time. Do a quick photo check-in in the app, your access code appears, and the keys are in the keybox.
Hitch up and go
Couple on, cross the safety chains, clip on the breakaway cable, plug in the 7-pin and pair the brakes. Bring it back to the same spot, clean, by your end time.
How far ahead should I book?
Most car trailer hires start Friday to Sunday, so weekends are the time to book ahead. A few days' notice usually gets you the times you want. Weekday hires can often be booked the same day.

Will my vehicle tow it?
Your vehicle has to be rated to tow the trailer plus whatever is on it, and your towbar has to be rated to match. With a car on board it's a heavy load, so it suits utes, large 4WDs and vans with a high towing capacity. Check the towing capacity in your owner's manual or on the towbar plate before you book.

Do I need a brake controller in my car?
No. The trailer runs the Elecbrakes wireless system, so nothing gets wired into your car and your car's own brake controller won't operate it. Download the free Elecbrakes app and pair it at pickup.
Can it carry a car that doesn't run?
Yes. The 12,000lb electric winch pulls a non-running car up onto the deck. Strap the car down as well, because the winch on its own isn't a tie-down. Our loading guide walks you through it.
Are straps included?
No. Hire covers the trailer only. You can add tie-down straps and tyre straps when you book, or bring your own.
What do I need to hire it?
Your physical driver's licence, a vehicle rated to tow the load, and a card to pay. Your first booking includes a one-off licence check that takes about a minute.
Is there a bond or deposit?
No. You pay for the hire by card when you book, and nothing is held.
Can I pick up or return it at night?
Yes. Pickup and return are self-serve 24/7, and plenty of our car trailer hires run overnight.
What if I need it for longer?
Extend your hire in the app before your booked end time. Extensions depend on availability, and sorting it before you run over avoids late charges.
Do I need to clean it before I bring it back?
Yes. Please give it a wash before you return it, so it's ready for the next person.
