TrailerMates hydraulic tipper with the bed raised

How it works

Tip it and drive off

The bed lifts on a battery-powered hydraulic ram, so you unload in seconds instead of shovelling it out. A full charge gives about 10 lifts, and a solar charger on the toolbox tops the battery up between hires.

To tip, park on firm, level ground with the trailer still hitched to your car. Release the tilt safety locks, take the tailgate off, secure the rear cage to the side, then raise the bed slowly. Lower it, lock it back down and refit the gate before you drive away. Full tipper guide →

The electric brakes run on the Elecbrakes wireless system fitted to the trailer, so there's nothing to wire into your car and no brake controller to fit. Download the free Elecbrakes app before pickup and pair it at the trailer. How the electric brakes work →

How much can I put in it?

Up to 2,500kg in either tipper. Soil, sand, gravel and rock are heavy, so you'll reach the weight limit well before the trailer looks full. Tell your landscape supplier the 2,500kg limit when they load you.

Green waste and mulch are light and bulky, so space runs out first. That's where the bigger 10x6 earns its keep.

Will my vehicle tow it?

Loaded, a tipper can weigh up to 3,500kg. Your vehicle has to be rated to tow the trailer plus the load, and your towbar has to be rated to match, so a full tipper suits utes and large 4WDs with a high towing capacity. Check your owner's manual or the towbar plate before you book.

FAQs

Tipper trailer questions

Do I need a brake controller in my car?

No. Both tippers run the Elecbrakes wireless system, so nothing gets wired into your car and your car's own brake controller won't operate it. Download the free Elecbrakes app and pair it at pickup.

How far ahead should I book?

Weekends are busiest, so book Friday to Sunday hires a few days ahead. Weekday hires can often be booked the same day, and the booking page shows live availability.

Do I need to cover the load?

Yes. Loose loads like mulch, soil and green waste have to be covered or contained so nothing blows out on the road, so bring a tarp or cargo net.

Are straps included?

No. Hire covers the trailer only. You can add tie-down straps when you book, or bring your own.

What if it won't tip?

Check the tilt safety locks are released and the trailer is on level ground. If it still won't lift, stop and call or text us on 0420 399 277 and we'll talk you through it.

What do I need to hire it?

Your physical driver's licence, a vehicle rated to tow the load, and a card to pay. Your first booking includes a one-off licence check that takes about a minute.

Is there a bond or deposit?

No. You pay for the hire by card when you book, and nothing is held.

Can I pick up or return it at night?

Yes. Pickup and return are self-serve 24/7, so you can get to the tip first thing or bring it back after a late finish.

Do I need to clean it before I bring it back?

Yes. Bring it back empty and give it a wash, so it's ready for the next person.

Where do I pick it up?

14 Collins St, Slacks Creek, right in the heart of Logan and an easy drive from across Logan and Brisbane's south side. Location and directions →
